Will handlebars off a 2000 Kawasaki EX500 fit on a 89 Kawasaki EX500?

March 30th, 2008 by lesleyterry

Someone let me know.

As long as the diameter is similar they will. Take into account that you might need new cables and lines. Measure your new bars and see.

What is the difference between peanut butter and nut butter?

March 29th, 2008 by lesleyterry

Are they two different things, or just two different ways of saying the word?

Peanut butter is specifically made from peanuts. So indeed, peanut butter would be a nut butter. But if someone ask if you what some nut butter you may want to ask what nut the butter is made from.

Nut butter refers to any butter made from nuts.

Nut butter refers to the mashing of nuts to create a spread. Other nut butters from common nuts include:

Walnut butter
Almond butter
Hazelnut butter
Macadamia nut butter
Pecan butter

Of course we all know techinically peanuts are not nuts but legumes. But for all intents and purposes they are referred to as a nut.

Poppy plant?

March 24th, 2008 by lesleyterry

in my class health class we need to do a project on any drug and i chose the poppy plant and to give a brief overview of the drugs you can derive from it. i got alot of information already but i just need to know if the poppy is a drug in itslf, as in when smoke without being treated you can still get an effect. also is there any states where the poppy is legal and what drug classification is it(a,b,c)
mostly need info on opium, there more than enough info out there for heroin, for that second answerer…cocain comes from the cocao plant not poppy

When the seed pods are just right, farmers thinly cut down the pod and the resulting sap is extreted and collected. This is then dried and is called opium.

It not the poppy that is considered the drug but the chemical in the sap is extretes before refined opiates such as morphine, thebaine, codeine, papaverine, and noscapine are extracted from said sap.

What’s the best way to keep a stencil down?

March 23rd, 2008 by lesleyterry

I have a stencil that I made and I need to spray paint it onto a backpack. What is the most effective way to keep the stencil down? The stencil has 3 different parts. I don’t want to use spray adhesive because it’s too hard to get it to come off. Tape won’t work because there’s a lot of little details and when I spray it, that part of the stencil blows up and the paint ends up going under the stencil. What can I do?

Use a VERY LIGHT coat of spray adhesive. Just a quick spritz. Let it dry before you put the stencil on the fabric. Letting it dry first makes it tacky enough to hold down, but not stick to the fabric. You should be able to peel it up very easily.

Test it out using a scrap of the stencil material and a scrap of fabric before you do it to your backpack.

Does Islam preclude dissent, free inquiry and discourse?

March 22nd, 2008 by lesleyterry

Stranglehold of Catholicism impeded development of science in Europe into 19thC - and Christian fundamentalists are still doing their best in the 21st. But as the Church’s stranglehold on ideas weakened, especially in Northern Europe, from the 16thC, Europe progressed while Islam, previously well ahead of Europe stumbled and stopped. What is stopping it now?

I once heard a reporter do a story on Islam, comparing it to pre-Reformation Christianity. The point was that the Enlightenment broke Europe out of the Dark Ages and led to the Renaissance, while Islam has had no such breakthrough - suggesting that if there were an Islamic Martin Luther, we might see a new, invigorated Islam that could recapture the intellectual energy it once had.

I have a 1980 110cc atc three wheeler and im trying to take the whole left side cover off the motor?

March 21st, 2008 by lesleyterry

where the front sprocket is located ive taken the bolts and the gear shifter off and it is sticking is there a special tool i need to take it off? it comes up a little just wont come all the way off thanks for your help

The flywheel has to be removed before the cover can come off.
The “dowel pins” might be corroded to the cover and crankcase.
Pull the cover as far away as you can and inspect where the gasket surfaces are, to determine what’s the problem.
And no, a special tool isn’t needed to remove that cover.
There might be some tabs that stick out of the cover for you to hit with a punch (or screwdriver) and hammer.
Careful not to damage the gasket surface.
